Parallel to these parades, Sao Paulo will also have the biggest street carnival in history and one of the main ones in the country.
According to sources, the city council will authorize about 678 parades, 38.5% more than in 2019, in which there were 490. About 15 million people are expected to visit Sao Paulo until March 1, which could leave an economic benefit of about US$500 million.
For the first time, street carnival will be extended to 32 Sao Paulo sub-prefectures.
The Rio de Janeiro carnival is one of the most emblematic in the country, but other states, such as Salvador, Recife, Olinda, Florianopolis and Sao Paulo, annually perform their masquerades with the characteristics of their regions.
